About this test

The Ultimate brings our panels together in one test. It includes C-peptide, which shows how much insulin your pancreas is producing and is not in any other Praetor panel, alongside hormones, PSA, thyroid function, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, inflammation, iron and key nutrients. Your results arrive as one report, so you can read them together and compare them when you test again. Drawn at a partnered clinic: markers like fasting insulin, C-peptide, and homocysteine need same-day centrifuging that home kits and nurse visits can't do. We post the collection kit to you; bring it unopened to the appointment. The £45 clinic fee and the £11 kit add £56, included in the price shown.

Important preparation

    Fast for 12 hours before your sample. Plain water is fine, but avoid all food, caloric drinks, alcohol, tea and coffee. HbA1c does not require fasting.
  • ImportantAvoid sexual intercourse / ejaculation - 48hrs
    48 hours
    Avoid sexual intercourse or ejaculation for at least 48 hours before a PSA test, as recent ejaculation can raise PSA temporarily.
  • ImportantAvoid heavy resistance exercise 48hrs
    48 hours
    Avoid vigorous exercise, including heavy resistance or weight training, for 48 hours before a PSA test.
  • ImportantAvoid cycling 48hrs
    48 hours
    Avoid cycling, and anything else that puts pressure on the perineum, for at least 48 hours before a PSA test.

Why clinic?

This test requires an appointment at a partnered clinic as the sample needs to be centrifuged shortly after collection. Venous collection kits and nurse visits are not available for this test.
