About this test

Where Silver looks for the problem, Gold is our most detailed male hormone panel, adding markers often reviewed when managing a hormonal issue.

Gold looks at your endocrine system alongside the metabolic processes it influences.

In addition to measuring your primary sex hormones, the pituitary hormones LH, FSH and prolactin, thyroid function and HbA1c, it also looks at cortisol, your primary stress hormone, from a single morning sample.

It measures cholesterol, the starting material for your steroid hormones. A full lipid profile helps you identify potential cardiovascular risk.

Your liver detoxifies and processes chemicals to help you maintain homeostasis, so liver function is included.

Kidney function testing looks at how well your internal filtration system is working.

Full blood count measures parameters such as haemoglobin, your primary oxygen-carrying protein, white cells involved in fighting infection, and platelets for clotting and wound healing.

Iron profiles show your circulating and stored iron, which your body needs to carry oxygen.

Vitamin D, B12, folate and zinc can show nutritional gaps that may affect hormonal function.

PSA is a prostate marker, and results are best discussed with your GP.

Together these give you detailed results to discuss with your GP or endocrinologist.
