Using Praetor in Claude

The Praetor Health connector lets Claude search our public UK blood-test catalogue. You can find tests by biomarker, health goal, collection method or budget, open one test’s details, or compare two to four named tests side by side.

The connector returns product information: test prices, included biomarkers, collection options, eligibility, sample type and expected turnaround. Its three tools are read-only. They cannot change anything in your Praetor account, place an order, take a payment or book an appointment. Praetor tests are available in the United Kingdom.

This is product information, not medical advice. The connector cannot interpret personal results, diagnose, confirm or rule out a condition, recommend treatment or decide whether a test is medically suitable for you.

You need a Claude account with access to custom connectors. You do not need a Praetor account, API key or separate sign-in. On a managed Team or Enterprise account, an owner may need to add the connector for your organisation first.

1. Open Connectors in Claude. Look under Customize or Settings, then choose Add custom connector. The location can vary between Claude versions.

2. Name it Praetor Health. Enter this complete remote MCP server URL, including the query at the end:

3. Add and connect. Leave authentication set to None if asked. Leave OAuth client ID, client secret and custom headers empty. Praetor does not require credentials for its public catalogue.

4. Enable Praetor in your chat. Open a new conversation and use the chat’s connectors menu to enable Praetor Health. Review any tool permission request before allowing the catalogue lookup.

Find a biomarker: “Which Praetor tests include ApoB?”

Filter by collection method and budget: “Show me Praetor hormone panels with clinic collection under £75.”

Compare named panels: “Compare Performance Bronze with Longevity Gold.”

Explore the catalogue: “I want a general health check. Which Praetor panels should I compare?”

Use product names, biomarkers or general goals. There is no need to include your identity, medical history or personal results.

Searches display matching tests in cards. A detail view shows one test, and a comparison places selected tests side by side. Use View test to open the matching product page on praetor.health.

The displayed test price is not necessarily the total cost. Collection fees can be separate. A panel priced below £75 may cost more than £75 once clinic collection is included. Check the collection choices and total on the website before ordering.

Prices, availability and inclusions can change. Check the current product page for the full marker list, collection options and preparation information. Claude’s written summary may omit details or make a mistake; use the catalogue cards and full product page to verify its claims.

The cards do not require product photographs. A text-based card showing the test name, price and link is expected.

When Claude calls a Praetor tool, Praetor receives the product-search wording and filters passed to that tool, together with limited technical request data. Search wording may include a health goal, symptom, condition or biomarker. Praetor uses it transiently to match the public catalogue. It is not added to your Praetor account or health records, and tool arguments are not recorded in our application logs.

The connector does not connect to your Praetor account or receive your orders, results, reports or profile. Limited operational information, such as request status and duration, is used to run and protect the service. This does not mean that no technical data is logged.

Do not include names, contact details, personal test results or other identifying information in catalogue requests. Claude’s handling of your conversation is governed separately by Anthropic’s terms and privacy policy. Read the Praetor privacy policy for our data-handling details.

The connector is missing from your chat. Check that it is connected in Claude and enabled for the current conversation. On a managed account, check with your organisation’s owner if custom connectors are unavailable.

You see a sign-in or credential request. Check that the server URL is exactly the one above, including ?client=claude. The Praetor catalogue connector does not need a Praetor password or API key.

No tests match. Try a published test name or a shorter biomarker query. Check whether your budget or collection filter excludes the test you want. A search with no matches does not establish whether you need a blood test.

The card does not appear, or the service is temporarily unavailable. Try the request again later, or browse the catalogue directly. For an unexpected marker list or price, check the product page before relying on Claude’s answer.

Turn off Praetor Health in the current chat’s connectors menu to stop using it in that conversation. To remove it from your account, open Claude’s Connectors settings and use the connector’s Disconnect or Remove option. This does not delete past Claude conversations; manage those separately in Claude.
